Choosing Web Hosting:

When choosing a host for your website, be sure you understand everything included in your package. For example, be aware of the details about your available disk space, bandwidth, CPU usage, and any other additional features.
Be ware of web hosts that offer unlimited bandwidth or other unlimited resources. There is no such thing as truly unlimited, and you might find yourself actually bound to a package filled to the brim with fine print and restrictions.

Shared Hosting:

IP sharing can turn sour in a hurry if another site on your server is blacklisted for an unethical activity, such as spam or generating illegal script. If one site on your server is blacklisted, the rest of the sites on your server will be, too. This can result in your site being banned by search engines. How these cases are handled varies by web hosting provider. Typically, all rule-breaking sites will wind up suspended, while all responsible sites are spared. But this may not happen overnight.
Should one of the sites on your server receive heavy traffic, it will consume more than its fair share of bandwidth and result in slow response times for your website. Servers respond to requested files in a queue, and a visitor to your site may wind up at the end of a queue. If they experience a slow response time, they may have difficulty accessing your site and leave it altogether.

And, though this may be obvious, dedicated server hosting is more secure than shared hosting. Each dedicated server has its own firewall, and everything stored on the server is less vulnerable to hackers and malicious codes.
Increased performance and loading times are another benefit. Requested files will load much faster because yours will be the only site in the queue. Fast loading times make for happy visitors.
